Step 03

Fill in the boxes as instructed below:

  1. Name: Enter a name for the competency.

  2. Category: Indicate which category this competency belongs to. Categories are used to group competencies.

  3. Type: Choose a type for your competency. In this tab, you can select if your competence relates to a personal, technical or leadership attribute. You can add a new type by clicking on the + symbol at the end of the line, filling in the field and clicking on +Competency Type.

  4. Description: Add the description of your competency, if you want.

  5. Linked Positions: If you specify one or more positions, this competency will be available only to them.

  6. Linked Teams: If you define one or more teams, this competence will be available only to them.

NOTE: If you define two positions and two teams, for example, the competency will be available to everyone who has the two selected positions, and also to everyone who belongs to the selected teams, even if they have other positions.

The audience selected for the competency will directly affect the competency template that will be linked to a person during a performance evaluation.

  7. Mark as reviewed: If you want, select the competency as reviewed.

  8. Show to all users: Here, you can unlock the competence for all users, with no need to select teams or positions in the previous filters.

  9. Active: Specify whether the competency is active or inactive.

Step 04

On the Specific tab, you can choose between the ‘Detail skill behaviors’ option or the ‘Assess skill behaviors’ option.

You can only choose one of these options, because choosing one makes the other unavailable.

If you choose the ‘Detail skill behaviors’ option, you can set for it "expected behaviors", "behaviors we want" and "behaviors we don't want", which will appear during the Performance Evaluation as additional information of the Competency to be evaluated. See the image below:

If you choose the ‘Assess skill behaviors’ option, you can determine one or more behaviors that compose that competency and assess them separately in the Performance Evaluation, within the Competencies step. This is how to set it up:

Click the + symbol on the right side of the screen, and add as many expected behaviors as you want.

Once you are done, just click Save!

You can define the order in which the behaviors will appear on the "respond to the evaluation" screens, the individual performance report, the calibration screen and in the evaluated pdf. Just move the behaviors and then save.

We remind you that you must first create the behaviors and save and then change the order and save.

Also, you can change the order, even with the cycle already activated and running.

The new competence will automatically appear in the list of competencies with all settings ready. If you want to edit it, just click on the edit icon.

You can also define the order in which the competencies will appear on the "respond to the assessment" screens, the individual performance report, the calibration screen and on the evaluated pdf.
