Pulse surveys are short surveys, which are used to constantly evaluate a specific organizational theme. Therefore, its questions are quick to answer and are submitted at a particular frequency (weekly, monthly, etc.) and cadence (one question at a time, or five questions at a time, for example) to all members of the company or a selected audience.
To start setting up the survey, you must first develop a pulse survey. Click here and see how to create one.
Next, follow the steps below to set up your pulse survey.
Step 01
Go to the Surveys menu.
Step 02
Click on + New survey.
Step 03
See the instructions below to create the survey:
1 - Name: Add a name to the survey;
2 - Anonymous: Choose whether the survey will be anonymous or not;
3 - Survey objective (optional): Specify the purpose of the survey;
4 - Type: Select the type of the survey as Pulse Survey;
5 - Questionnaire: Choose the questionnaire for the survey;
6 - Pulse frequency: Specify how often the pulse will be launched. You can choose daily, weekly, fortnightly, or monthly pulse;
When the pulse frequency is enabled, it will be released to users without pause. Thus, if you want to stop the survey, you need to disable it, subsequently.
7 - Send day (weekly, fortnightly or monthly): Define the day of the week for weekly or bi-weekly pulse or day of the month for monthly pulse;
Daily pulses are released every day starting at 4am.
Pending surveys generated on the date or the same periodicity selected will only be sent on the date of the next event. Example: If a survey is created and a daily periodicity is selected, it will only be released the next day, if created weekly (for every Tuesday), it will only be sent on the next Tuesday.
8 - Questions per pulse: Define how many questions will be answered from the total questionnaire in each pulse. You can choose between 1, 3, 5 or 7;
In the pulse survey, the questionnaire with the questions is sent little by little to the users, in accordance with the frequency and quantity of selected questions. In other words, if you set a weekly frequency, for example, and define that there will be 5 questions per pulse, even if the questionnaire has 100 questions, the users will receive 5 questions each week. The 5 questions will be sent intelligently way by the system, so that all the questions and categories of the questionnaires are well distributed among all those who will be answering, so that they are not repeated, meaning that no two users will answer the same question in the same pulse (unless there are more users than questions) and also so that a user will not answer the same question twice or questions of the same category in the same pulse (unless there are fewer categories than the number of questions selected for the pulse).
9 - Situation: Set the status as Active.
Step 04
Select all the teams in your company or some specific teams to send the pulse.
By selecting a team for your pulse survey, if new users join this team, they will automatically receive the pulse created. Additionally, if a user is removed from a selected team, they automatically stop receiving the pulse survey;
For teams with hierarchy, you can select all teams below them or just specific ones.
By selecting a team that has a hierarchy, if new teams are linked to it, they will automatically also receive the pulse created.
Step 05
If you want, set a reminder email to be sent to non-respondents of the survey. You can define when the email will be sent.
And that’s it!!
